Salesforce Lead Data Migration Developer

We are hiring a Salesforce Lead Data Migration Developer to join our team and ensure the successful transfer of data into Salesforce from various sources. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze, map, and transform data while maintaining its quality and integrity. Proficiency in Salesforce data migration tools and technologies such as SQL, ETL, AWS and PySpark are essential, and knowledge of Python would be considered a bonus.

The Data Migration Specialist is responsible for executing complex data migration services that meet the diverse data needs of our clients. This will include but is not limited to: extracting, transforming, and loading large and disparate data sets across the project portfolio. The Data Migration Specialist will use their product knowledge, industry experience and advanced technical skills to support various roles and departments in our pursuit of client success. Data Migration Specialists seek to consistently improve the tools and processes required to successfully migrate intricate client data as well as own documentation and training for these tools and processes.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and evaluate data from source systems, identifying data cleansing and transformation requirements.
• Map data from source systems to Salesforce objects and fields using effective data mapping strategies.
• Extract data from diverse sources, maintaining data integrity and completeness through SQL queries and AWS services.
• Transform and enrich data using Python and PySpark, aligning it with Salesforce data structure and requirements.
• Load data into Salesforce using tools like Data Loader and Workbench, ensuring accuracy and adherence to standards.
• Validate and reconcile migrated data with the source data using SQL and SOQL queries.
• Resolve data migration errors, troubleshoot issues, and provide solutions utilizing AWS services and Python scripting.
• Use technical skills, industry knowledge and custom tools to efficiently perform data analysis and migrations of 3rd party/client data into databases.
• Work directly with client technical resources and implementation teams to effectively coordinate each migration project to completion.
• Monitor all work for quality while troubleshooting and resolving errors as necessary.
• Assess the necessary requirements to execute data services and anticipate future consequences and trends accurately.
• Create and articulate innovative strategies and plans for complex data needs.
• Provide custom data service quotes and execute upon subsequent confirmation.System-thinker that can understand complex concepts and apply new information quickly.
• Responsible for process documentation and case management via Salesforce CRM software as it pertains to data-related activities.
• Cross-departmental collaboration in communicating process successes/failures to internal and external stakeholders to identify potential areas of improvement.
• Work with industry standard ETL tools to build on and improve a library of data connections.
• Provide valuable feedback on client data management processes.

Experience and Expectations

• 4+ years of experience in Salesforce data migration projects or similar roles involving data migration.
• Strong understanding of Salesforce data model, objects, fields, relationships, and data migration best practices.
• Proficiency in data analysis, mapping, cleansing, and transformation techniques using AWS, SQL, SOQL, Python, and PySpark.
• Familiarity with Salesforce data import/export tools (e.g., Data Loader) and third - party migration tools.
• Ability to analyze complex requirements, troubleshoot issues, and propose effective solutions.
• Attention to detail to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficient in SQL, experience with SQL Server, and understanding of data relationships and objects within a RDBMS.
• Experience working with various data stores (CSV, XML, JSON, etc.)
• Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with other departments and teams.
